This is the first book in the Legend trilogy.
Summary:
Set in the future US, the Republic dominate the west and is at war with the Colonies.
June is from an elite district; she's rich, a prodigy and is being groomed for success for the highest military rank in the Republic. Day is the complete opposite; born in the slums, he is the country's most wanted criminal.
But when Junes brother is murdered, the Republic points her toward Day, and the hunt begins.
Review:
I quite enjoyed this book. Its a very solid first book, and has definitely piqued my interest enough that I'm going to read the rest of the series.
I very much enjoyed the characters in this book, though they are perhaps not the most original. I like how you get a clear picture of all of them, and you really feel for them.
I felt like the world this is set in was very interesting, but there are some things lacking. I don't know if thats because it's deliberately being held back, but I have a feeling it will be revealed in the next books.
Tiny bit annoyed by the romance, I gotta say. I wish for once I could just read one of these kinds of books, and not have to deal with this kind of stuff.
Overall, a good book! I would recommend it if you enjoy dystopian young adult books.
You can get this book at The Book Depository*, or as an ebook on Amazon.
